This Cookie Policy explains how the BudgetBlox website uses cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage. It covers this website only. Data practices in the BudgetBlox mobile app are described in our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that stores small pieces of data on your device. In this policy, "cookies" refers to both.

2. Strictly Necessary and Functional Storage

These items are required for the website to work as you expect and are always used. They do not track you across sites and are never shared with advertisers.

• bb-cookie-consent (local storage) — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we do not ask you on every visit. Kept until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
• theme (local storage) — remembers your light/dark theme preference, set by the site's theme switcher. Kept until you clear your browser data.
• bb-fx-rates-cad (local storage) — a cached copy of currency exchange rates, refreshed roughly every 24 hours, used to show an approximate local-currency equivalent of our Canadian dollar prices on the pricing page. It contains only exchange rates, no personal information.

To show approximate local prices, your browser may fetch exchange rates directly from the Frankfurter API (frankfurter.dev), a free public service. That request contains no cookies and no personal information beyond the IP address inherent in any web request.

3. Analytics Cookies (Only With Your Consent)

With your consent, we use PostHog to understand how visitors use this website. This covers page views as you navigate the site, the site you arrived from, general browser and device information, and PostHog's automatic capture of interactions such as clicks on links and buttons. Automatic capture records which element was interacted with, not anything you type. We do not send PostHog your name or email address, and we do not use it for advertising. This data is processed on PostHog's cloud infrastructure.

PostHog sets cookies and local-storage entries whose names begin with ph_, including a randomly generated identifier used to recognize return visits.

Analytics is loaded only after you choose "Accept" in our cookie banner. If you decline, or before you make a choice, no analytics code runs and no analytics cookies are set. Declining does not affect your use of the website.

4. What We Do Not Use

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website, and we do not sell personal information collected here.

5. Managing Your Preferences

You can change your analytics choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the website footer. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops collecting data from that point on.

You can also delete or block cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may affect features such as remembering your theme or your cookie choice.
